You've seen "Dancing With the Stars" pro Karina Smirnoff in the tiniest, flashiest, sexiest costumes on ABC's ballroom bash, but now she's ready to show you a different side of her.
The bridal side.
The pro, who guided actor J.R. Martinez to mirror-ball glory last season, went shopping for her wedding gown on July 27, and TLC's cameras were there to capture her experience for "Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta." Naturally, with a perfectly fit body like hers, she probably figured she'd look fantastic in pretty much anything (she does) and picked a ton of dresses to try on at Bridals by Lori.
But salon manager Robin selected a lacy, show-stopping couture gown by Lazaro for the dancer, and had her squealing with excitement.
Unfortunately, not everyone was as enamored with the dress. Karina's mom, Tatiana, boldly declared, "I didn't really like the top on you. Too much for you, you're too tiny for this top." And this in front of the designer, too!
Check it out:
Whether or not Karina ends up with the Lazaro, you'll have to tune in to TLC on Friday at 9 p.m. to find out. As for her wedding, well, that may not be happening after all. A source told our pals at Us Weekly last month that Karina and her pro baseball player fiance, Brad Penny, had broken up. Hope she didn't spend a fortune on the dress ...
