A young boy named Gavin had a blast teaching One Direction how to do the summer's biggest dance craze.

Coconut Creek, Florida, resident Hannah Stiepleman — who appears to be Gavin's sister — joined him in hanging out with One Direction backstage at the group's Tuesday concert in Kansas City, Missouri. That's when she filmed Gavin's informal dance lessons set to Silentó's viral hit, "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)."

The next day, she posted the adorable results on Twitter.

Prior to the lesson, One Direction's Harry Styles thought "Nae Nae" was "mayonnaise," according to Stiepleman.

Stiepleman stated that her brother got to meet the boy band through Make-a-Wish Foundation, a charity that provides once-in-a-lifetime experiences for children with life-threatening conditions.

Gavin wasn't the only family member to spend some quality time with One Direction. Stiepleman was thrilled to get some face-time of her own.

She also tweeted a video that she says began right after Gavin verbalized the absence of former One Direction member Zayn Malik. In that video, Styles shouts, "Don't remind us!" in what appears to be a joking fashion, prompting laughter from those around him.

For what it's worth, Malik also seems to be in a good mood these days: On Wednesday, he tweeted a photo of himself smiling while announcing a solo record deal to make "#realmusic" with RCA.

That same day on Twitter, One Direction's Niall Horan called Gavin a "very brave little dude."

And in a follow-up video posted by Stiepleman, Gavin replied that he was "so excited" to see Horan's shout-out.
