Anyone who's ever longed to see the Dillon Panthers break out into song is in luck: A "Friday Night Lights" musical is said to be in the works.

According to the production's Twitter account, the show is coming to Los Angeles next year.

While fans of the high school drama might be wondering who could possibly fill Kyle Chandler's shoes as Eric Taylor, the football coach with a penchant for motivational speeches will be played by none other than Scott Porter — the actor best known as Coach Taylor's protege Jason Street in the original series, which ran from 2006 to 2011.

Porter celebrated the casting news by posting a Dubsmash video of himself delivering one of the show's most quoted lines: "Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can't Lose."

Porter recently reunited with two of his other "FNL" co-stars: Gaius Charles, who played Smash Williams, and Matt Lauria, who played Luke Cafferty. The trio even posed for an adorable photo with Porter's son McCoy, who was born in May.

The theatrical version of "FNL" sounds as though it's in capable hands: Sucker Love Productions has previously brought musical versions of "The O.C." and "Cruel Intentions" to the stage.
