It's Friday, and that means the weekend is on the way. But it also brings more good news: It's time for another installment in the TODAY summer concert series.
This time, Darius Rucker brought his music to the plaza!
Fans of "Southern Style" hit-maker and Hootie & the Blowfish frontman came out in force — including some familiar faces.
Those who gathered early heard a bit of what's to come from the crossover-country crooner.
Rucker kicked off the fun with his hit "Wagon Wheel," but before that, he gave the audience a blast-from-the-past sample of "Only Wanna Be With You." And that wasn't the only treat for Blowfish fans. He had an update on the band's status, too.
"Still working on [a reunion]," he told TODAY between sets. "We're writing songs, which is great because we're not going to do it until we have 13 songs that we love, that we think are great. ... So it'll be real soon."
But he also had some not-so-great news for Blowfish fans: "It's probably going to be the last time we do it for a long, long time."
Good thing he's keeping the solo songs coming!
