John Travolta's got some hot wheels all right.

The "Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" star made a pit stop at a Santa Monica Jaguar dealership on Sunday looking for a new ride when some enterprising thief drove off with his classic Mercedes.

Now that's bold.

Santa Monica's Finest tells E! News Travolta's 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL was jacked at about 3:46 p.m.from its parking spot on Berkeley Street.

The actor reported the car stolen after he walked out after 10 minutes to find it gone. There were no witnesses to the theft, according to a police spokesperson, but investigators are on the case.

Various car websites estimate the value of that Mercedes model at anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000.

A rep for Travolta was unavailable for comment.
