Severe morning sickness continues to plague the Duchess of Cambridge, who had to pull out of a scheduled engagement on Wednesday due to the illness, according to Kensington Palace.
Duchess Kate continues to suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum, an acute morning sickness, rendering her unable to attend an event for The Art Room, a London charity that helps children increase their confidence and independence through art. The duchess is a patron of the charity and sent a message of support to the organization on Wednesday saying she wishes them all the best but she cannot join them in person for the afternoon event, a palace spokesperson told TODAY.com.
Duchess Kate also had to withdraw from a trip to Malta on Sept. 18, which would have been her first solo trip abroad, due to acute morning sickness. All future events this month are under review on a case-by-case basis depending on her health, the spokesperson said.
