Heading back to work after a long weekend can be rough — even for Kathie Lee and Hoda.
When the ladies returned from their time off on Tuesday morning to TODAY's home in Rockefeller Center’s Studio 1A, they found yellow construction tape covering the downstairs level, which is in the middle of renovations. Locked out, Kathie Lee and Hoda, who seemed dressed for some heavy lifting in their yellow hard hats, had to venture upstairs to do their show.
Once they got settled in and toasted the new week—with glasses of red wine, of course—it was time to play catch up!
Hoda showed readers the latest issue of Called magazine, featuring Kathie Lee as cover model, along with her adorable furry friend Bambino. “This is a really lovely new magazine,” Kathie Lee explained, telling Hoda about the wonderful experience of being featured. “It’s for women of faith.”
Meanwhile, Hoda’s weekend was a little less glamorous. She went to Colorado, where she hiked two miles straight up a mountain. “I’m not a hiker,” Hoda said. “I’m not familiar with mountains—I like the beach. I’m that kind of girl.”
But the scene was “really something,” Hoda said, and her picture of the mountain even prompted Kathie Lee to sing, “The hills are alive…with the sound of Hoda!”
