Here's some good news for your arches: According to the Wall Street Journal, heels are out, and flats are It.
The paper heralded the arrival of the "power flat," and claimed that female executives are choosing style and practicality over traditional teetering. Usually, dressing up has meant pulling out the pumps, but this year, dressy flats have been equally popular on the runway and with powerful ladies. But, says Hoda, they're not for everybody.
"I wear a 9.5, or a 10 on some days," she said, referring to her shoe size. "Flats made them look tremendous. Like flippers."
KLG agreed somewhat, adding that she likes heels for their slimming and lengthening effect. "Tall people can wear flats… it's for people who are weight- and height-challenged that flats are a problem."
