Are you ready to look stunning? We hope so because it's time to brush up on your spring beauty trends … and the buzz word is “gorgeous.” Spring fashions call for makeup that is radiantly feminine, and we've selected the best of the season's new soft, sheer cosmetics — combined with a few insider tips and tricks, of course — to help you find the perfect look. It's all right here in the latest “New Year, New You” installment of The Trend Report!

Think pinkThe easy way to understand spring beauty trends is to “think pink”! No matter what your skintone, a soft, pretty wash of pink on the eyes, cheeks or lips (or nails) will get you right on trend. Many of the major beauty companies have designed complete collections around this flattering shade. For example, Chanel's spring collection is based on a palette of pink, beige, lilac and red and each product is infused with light-reflecting pigments to emphasize the structure and contours of your face. Try the special edition Lumieres Magiques de Chanel face-sculpting powder/blush in a trio of pinks ($50) as an all-over face highlighter to see what we mean!

Trend tip: Many of the latest beauty products are meant to be multi-purpose items that you can use on different features — the eyes, lips or cheeks. For an overall pink and feminine glow, you can also try the matte look of LORAC Sheer Wash Lip and Cheek Tint ($17.50) or the subtle glimmer of Benefits Show Offs powder ($14).

Trend tip: The hottest look in mascara is the “wet look” as if you've just emerged from a pool of water ... and you can get this look easily with the new Dream Gleam Lash Topcoat from mark ($6). Its gel formula coats the lashes and subtle glitter gives them just a bit of a glistening shimmer (wear it over mascara or alone).

Trend tip: Plump, pretty lips can be yours with the help of a slew of lip-enhancing products. LipFusion XL 2X Micro-Injected Collagen +HA Advanced Lip Plumping Therapy ($50) can be worn overnight to achieve plumply firm lips in the AM ... or try the limited edition DuWop Little Stars Venom Glosses trio ($20), which uses ginger, wintergreen and cinnamon in the sheer gloss formulations to increase circulation — and fullness — to the lips.

Trend tip: Give your skin even more support with a pre-foundation/powder product such as Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch ($30), which you apply first as a makeup base. It fills in tiny lines, wrinkles and pores with tiny “micro pearls” to completely even out your complexion.

Trend tip: The overly bronzed look is a thing of the past ... what's new is a soft and subtle “sunkissed” glow. To get it, try the new Blush/Bronzer Duo from Nars ($35), which combines the best of two worlds — the subtly peachy-pink shimmer of the bestselling Nars' Orgasm Blush and the sheer light brown shimmer of their Laguna Bronzer.
