In something that looks straight out of "The Jetsons," the FoldiMate is a machine for your home that claims it can neatly fold clothes twice as fast as you can.

The machine is designed to sit on top of your washer, dryer or any standard table. It does require a little work on your end to use (we’re still crossing our fingers for the day it can sort through a pile of clothes). You just have to clip the clothing items onto the machine which the company says takes about three seconds per piece. The robot takes it from there.

According to the start-up’s website, it takes about 10 seconds to fold each item. Most of your laundry can go in there such as shirts, pants and towels. However, you’ll have to do the bigger items like sheets and the smaller items like socks and underwear.

And while it won’t replace the iron, the company says it’ll definitely help reduce wrinkles in your clothes.

So, you might be asking yourself, “Isn’t it faster just to do it myself?” If you’re one of those people, you are clearly a human folding machine and definitely have no need for this appliance at all. But for the rest of the population, this could be a time-saver. Plus, how fun to have a robot help with chores!

Many people seem to be excited over the idea. Over 100,000 have already registered on the website to be notified when pre-orders begin in 2017. The machines will ultimately cost around $700-$800, but if you put down a $100 down payment, you’ll get 10 percent off the final purchase price.

Could you see yourself having one of these in your home, or would you rather just do it yourself and save space and energy?
