It's a wardrobe staple that you surely own, but have you really taken advantage of its versatility? Believe it or not, a standard white button-down shirt is much more than your go-to top for the office. It can even work for a formal affair.

Wear it to work:
- Pair your button-down with a black pencil skirt
- Pop the collar over a printed blazer
- Carry a roomy work tote to keep all of your belongings organized
Wear it to a formal affair:
- Tuck your white button-down shirt into a floor-length, sequin skirt
- Roll-up the sleeves to about three-quarters of the way
- Incorporate a few bold accessories, like statement earrings
Wear it to go holiday shopping:
- Top your white button-down shirt with a bright sweater
- Wear your favorite pair of jeans (a lighter wash works better if you pick a blue sweater)
- Add a fun, floppy hat for extra flair!
