Sleeping bags: They're great for camping, but why can't you wear them to the grocery store?
Well, now you can, if you should actually want to do such a thing. There's a new product called "The Napsack," and it's a kind of ambulatory sleeping bag, or a "wearable knapsack." They're made by camping clothier Poler, and they're a little bit like quilted Snuggies with no sleeves. The can be hooded, cinched, or yanked up to the waist into a parka.
They're happening enough to appear on the HBO show "Girls," worn memorably by Lena Dunham's character, Hannah (whose roommate told her it made her look like "a sad little glow worm"). Never ones to miss a fashion trend, Al, Natalie, and Willie donned them Friday morning, and some were much more enthusiastic than others.
"It's so sexy!" said Natalie.
"What's the occasion to wear this again?" wondered Willie.
Maybe it's a lady thing; the guys thought that only Natalie was pulling it off.
"We look like we're in a cult," lamented Al.
The Napsack even has a cellphone pocket and a hole for your headphone jack, should you feel especially unmotivated to leave your couch.
