Few women can make a super short, slinky gold dress look as elegant as Amal Clooney.
The gorgeous attorney and new wife of actor George Clooney showed off her long legs in a mesh-and-jersey, draped dress from Vionnet, retailing for $2,435, at a recent party in Ibizia.
The couple, who married last September, was celebrating the Spanish launch of George's tequila line, Casamigos.
Amal's bold dress had an all-black panel on the back that helped keep the look classy, not cheesy. And she paired the dress with simple accessories: black heels and a gold clutch — all important details, according to one fashion stylist.
"The best way to to wear an eye-catching dress, especially one that's metallic, is to tone down everything else you wear," Los Angeles stylist, Laurie Brucker, told TODAY.com. "Amal Clooney has a simple clutch and black pumps, and very clean makeup. That's why it works."
"The trick is to always keep one focal point in your look," she added. "So if the dress is the focal point, it's important to minimize accessories and everything else."
Confidence and a big smile like Amal's help, too — and it probably doesn't hurt to have George Clooney on your arm. The actor, who launched the tequila with pals Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, went for a more casual look at the party, wearing jeans and a white button-up shirt.
