As any movie buff knows, there's a wealth of fantastic films out there. But you only need to see some of the best ones once to fully appreciate them.

Then there's the rest: The flicks that are fun when you first see them, and just as enjoyable — or maybe even more enjoyable — when you watch them again and again.

The folks at FiveThirtyEight conducted a SurveyMonkey poll to find out what the "most rewatchable movies" of all time really are, and the results are interesting.

Men love "The Godfather" films and women can't get enough of "Sound of Music," with each pick coming in second place respectively.

But when you look at the votes regardless of gender, there's one clear winner — from a long time ago and a galaxy far, far way: "Star Wars."

Here's the overall top 10:

  1. "Star Wars" (series)
  2. "The Wizard of Oz"
  3. "The Sound of Music"
  4. "The Lord of the Rings" (series)
  5. "Gone With the Wind"
  6. "The Godfather" (series)
  7. "The Princess Bride"
  8. "The Shawshank Redemption"
  9. "Harry Potter" (series)
  10. "It's a Wonderful Life"
