Looks like boozing may not be Mel Gibson’s only problem.
The actor, who recently sought rehabilitation after an , is the subject of a scathing article in the upcoming issue of the National Enquirer, which is alleging that the “Passion of the Christ” director is “a man who has indulged in years of cocaine and booze binges and torrid extramarital affairs.”
Gibson has apologized for his recent behavior, but if the tab is to be believed, the married father of seven has more apologizing to do.
“His religious fanaticism cloaked a dark, desperate soul who was capable of horrendous rage and bigotry — fueled by massive amounts of booze, drugs, and available women,” a “Malibu friend” told the tab, which goes on to detail alleged incidents of cocaine use and womanizing. “Mel is his own worst enemy,” opines the friend. “His downfall has revealed a complicated, seedy secret life he kept from everyone.”
When called by The Scoop, Gibson’s rep wasn’t available for comment.

Spokespeople for the two have denied that they were ever an item, but gossips insist that they’ve secretly dated. And Simpson’s fling with Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine has apparently flopped.
“Jessica is lonely and needy,” a source tells Star. “She’s having a hard time dealing with the fact that [ex-husband] Nick [Lachey] is in love [with MTV’s Vanessa Minnillo].”
