Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley had hopes that her client would get out of prison this week. However, a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesman shot down that report on Monday, and that’s a good thing, according to some Lohan sources.
“There are all these reports of Lindsay crying in jail, but the hardest part for her is being alone,” said one Lohan source. “Sure, it’s hard for her, but it’s not supposed to be fun. This is the first time she’s truly being punished.”
The source said that rehab will likely be more difficult for Lohan than the jail time.
“Ninety days is going to feel like a long time to her — she doesn’t stay anywhere for 90 straight days. And, this isn’t going to be the kind of rehab that caters to her. If Lindsay’s going to learn something, it will be from rehab, not from jail,” said the source.
Sarah Ferguson on OWN, not a done dealAfter nearly every major news outlet ran with the news that Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson was being offered a show on Oprah Winfrey’s new network, OWN, publicists for the net clarified just where things stand with the reported offer.
“We have had initial conversation with Sarah Ferguson about a docu-series, not a talk show, but there is nothing to announce at this time,” according to a statement issued by OWN. As for why there’s nothing to announce yet, chalk it up to two things: the normal process involved with signing new talent, and Fergie dragging her heels. “She’s talking about waiting a year before signing on to do a show,” said one person familiar with the negotiations. “No one really understands why she’d want to wait, though.”
‘Real Housewives of D.C.’ will be ‘intellectual’If you’re hoping to see fistfights and hands full of hair extensions on “The Real Housewives of Washington, D.C.,” when it premieres Aug. 5, you might be disappointed.
“In D.C., people are focused more on achievement than fame,” housewife Stacie Scott Turner, a real estate agent and philanthropist told TODAYshow.com during a phone conference call. “It’s an intellectual capital.”
That doesn’t mean the show won’t have its fair share of scandal — White House party crasher Michaele Salahi is also part of the show, after all. “I was just shocked that anybody would have the gall to crash a party like that,” Turner said.
However, the Salahi incident is only “one small snippet” of the show, according to another cast member, Mary Schmidt Amons. "We have some really important, provocative, substantive conversations about political issues," Turner said.
Brand movie set under extreme lockdownSecurity on Russell Brand and Jennifer Garners’ new film “Arthur” was extra strict on Monday, with the crew on orders not to share any details. The New York film shoot shut down St. Bartholomew’s Church for two days, and even though a sign on the door said the chapel was available for use, the “Arthur” production team blocked civilians from entering the church building.
One crew member told TODAYshow.com that Brand “blew past everyone with his bodyguard and straight to makeup and costuming.” (Garner wasn’t spotted.)
Another source involved with the film said he had to sign a thick stack of paperwork saying he would protect the confidentiality of the project. “How did [Brand] get so big so fast?” he said. “Who is he?”
Both sources were extremely surprised at the mums-the-word attitude because neither one knew who Brand was.
