Well, THIS is a little more like it.

Entertainment Weekly published a photo from 2012's "Dark Shadows" that shows what appears to be a good portion of the cast gathered at Collinwood.

Barnabas Collins, played by Johnny Depp, is standing kind of in the back, but at least his face isn't covered with zinc oxide or whatever he was wearing in that earlier photo that so troubled fans of the classic supernatural soap.

The photo is based on a picture of the original cast, and while those choppy bangs don't look quite as imposing on Depp as they did on Jonathan Frid, it's a relief to see that the film seems to be in line with our memories.

EW quotes director Tim Burton as saying he wanted to recreate a classic group photo from the original show. Dan Evon at Inquisitr.com found that very photo and pairs the two up, and darned if Burton didn't do a good job making them match.

I especially appreciate Jackie Earle Haley as creepy groundskeeper Willie Loomis (plaid shirt) and Jonny Lee Miller as Roger Collins (gray suit with turtleneck). And I'm assuming that's Michelle Pfeiffer as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (blonde in black dress) and Chloe Moretz as her teen daughter Carolyn (young girl off to left). Can you identify other cast members? Tell us on Facebook.

Judging by the clothes, I'm guessing the movie might be set in the late 1960s-early 1970s, when the show was on. But the Collins family never exactly dressed right out of Vogue, so it could just be that they're mentally living in a slightly different era than the rest of us, a little like "The Brady Bunch" in their parody movies.

What do you think of the photo? Will you see "Dark Shadows"? Discuss on Facebook.
