Lady Gaga is the intercontinental queen of the MTV Music Awards.

After nabbing a whopping eight Moonmen at the Video Music Awards in September, the "Alejandro" crooner won big again at the MTV Europe Music Awards, taking home three trophies, including Best Song for "Bad Romance."

But while Lady Gaga didn't grace us with her meat-dress-donning presence at this particular awards show (she was performing in Budapest), the superstar singer did pop up via digital screen from Hungary in similarly wild outfits to accept all of her awards.

Speaking of thrones, Eva Longoria Parker knocked Katy Perry off of her two-time hosting reign, kicking off the Sunday evening event in Madrid, Spain, at the city's Caja Magica venue with a pyro-infused intro. Justin Bieber served as the "digital host" for the night, chiming in throughout the show via pretaped messages.

Nevertheless, Perry hit the carpet with Russell Brand in their first postwedding appearance as husband and wife, then later took the stage in a shimmery catsuit to perform "Firework."

But it was Kanye West who surprised awards-show goers before the event began. (No, not with some crazy antic.)

The rapper, who once crashed the stage during the 2006 EMAs, made a surprise (but scheduled) appearance, hopping onstage during 30 Seconds to Mars' preshow gig, performing "Hurricane" and "Power" with the group.

After their Kanye collabo, 30 Seconds to Mars was named Best Rock Act.
