Kevin Federline, the soon-to-be ex-husband of singer Britney Spears, started the new year off with a new career — and perhaps a few new aches and pains.

Federline entered the wrestling ring at Miami's American Airlines Arena on Monday as part of the WWE's "Monday Night RAW" event.

He reportedly insisted on being introduced as a "celebrated recording artist, dancer par excellence, and entertainment mogul." Fans may have taken issue with that description--one sign read "Vanilla Ice: Better than K-Fed."

Federline took on WWE champion John Cena in a no-disqualification match. Just as it appeared Cena would win the match, wrestler Umaga (Eddie Fatu) joined the fray, allowing Federline to pin and thus defeat Cena.

Federline didn't have long to celebrate, however. Cena took his revenge later in the match when Federline had retired to ringside and was offering commentary.

Despite a disqualification, Cena defeated Umaga and three other wrestlers in a 4-on-1 match, after which he grabbed the ringside Federline and smashed him to the mat.

Although more than 15,000 fans attended the bout, Federline's ex-to-be, Spears, was not among them. She reportedly was at a party in a Vegas nightclub, where she fell asleep.

This wasn't the first time Federline had shown interest in wrestling. He appeared on two episodes of "RAW" in October as well as on a pay-per-view event in November, at which he challenged Cena to the New Year's Day bout.
