Justin Bieber's bodyguard is in big trouble.
After allegedly getting a little too protective and shoving a photog trying to snap the singer's pic last November, security man Kenneth Hamilton was arrested this week, the NYPD confirms to E! News. And the craziest part--the cops came to collar Hamilton right in front of the Biebs!
We have all the details of what went down...
Celebrity photog Jason Nicholas recounted his version of events when it had happened, saying that as he was waiting outside New York's London Hotel for an unrelated job, he stumbled upon Bieber heading to a book signing and tried to take a picture. That's when Hamilton stepped in and, per Nicholas, shoved the photographer, who wound up going to the hospital with minor injuries.
New York police had been unable to locate the bodyguard until Wednesday, when he accompanied Bieber to the premiere of his new movie, Never Say Never. Armed with a photo of Hamilton, police from NYPD's Midtown North precinct located him at the Regal E-Walk Theater on 42nd Street and instructed him to come surrender at the precinct. He was booked at 11:30 that night for a misdemeanor and given a desk appearance ticket which requires him to appear in criminal court on a date yet to be set.
There was no immediate comment from Bieber's reps; attempts to find the laywer representing Hamilton weren't successful.
Nicholas, meanwhile, tells E! News that although he's completely recovered from the minor injury he suffered, he's glad the police took action.
"I'm sorry that this happened on both sides," he says. "The point was that press photographers should be able to work without being touched...We have a right to work and work free of violence."
Nicholas says that police were aware Hamilton was in town after getting a tip that he had been at a taping of The Late Show With David Letterman on Monday with the singer.
After the premiere Wednesday, Bieber headed to a New York Knicks game, where he was booed when he appeared on the Garden's Jumbotron.
Rough week for Team Biebs.
