In Tiger Woods’ first late-night talk show appearance since his 2009 scandal, the golf great had a chance to show Jimmy Fallon what a good sport he is.

“It’s been a year and a half since you were on the show. What have you been up to?” the “Late Night” host deadpanned.

“Oh, nothing, nothing,” Woods replied. “Playing bad golf.”

Fallon, of course, couldn’t let the moment pass without shifting the conversation to Woods' unmentioned activities. Without recounting the details of “the whole thing that (Woods) went through,” Fallon offered the sports star some gratitude for his bounty of joke-worthy woes.

“From a comedian’s standpoint and my monologue writers’, thank you so much” Fallon said. “We laughed at your pain. I mean, not even making jokes — it kind of wrote itself. I mean, balls, shaft, holes, foursomes... It really writes itself. I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Woods took the unexpected appreciation with a smile.
