Donning a blonde wig to promote his artsy Three's Company riff at Sundance was actually the least of James Franco's outr moments last week.

"As anyone who's made a home sex tape knows, what feels best doesn't always look best," the Oscar cohost and probable nominee told fellow thespians including Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth during Newsweek's annual Oscar roundtable as they discussed how to film a convincing love scene.

And, er, besides the fact that it's a reasonable assumption, how does Franco know that?

"I remember when I was 19 doing that and then watching it back and thinking, 'God, that looks horrible,'" he recalled, cracking his colleagues up in the process.

"So yeah, you have a lot of respect for those actors in pornography. They're not just doing it, they're really selling it," Franco continued. "And it's the same way with a kiss, I think. It's not just the kiss that feels the best. It's an image."

"Yeah, I remember Ewan [McGregor] and I, when we first were rehearsing [Moulin Rouge] and I was like, 'Oh, well that felt really good!'" said Kidman. But, she added, scrunching up her face for emphasis, "Baz [Luhrmann] is like 'Hmm, no, no.'"
