A kiss is still a kiss: ABC had been hyping the "Desperate Housewives" same-sex kiss for weeks now, but viewers knew it wasn't going to turn out to be anything. And it didn't. When art teacher Jessie (Swoosie Kurtz) misunderstands Susan's intentions and kisses her, Susan spills the story of the smooch to the other Wisteria Lane ladies. They want to know if it was a casual or a deeper kiss, and to demonstrate the difference, Gaby plants one (really two) on Susan. That's it. End of plot device, ratings attempt, or whatever you want to call it.

A camping we will go: The more interesting plot this week involved Creepy Dave Williams. Edie continues to investigate his past, and has now discovered that he had a three-year-old daughter who died in the same car accident that killed Dave's wife. She prods Dave about it and he pretends he had a "friend" who lost a young daughter and was never the same. Then Dave heads out on a camping trip with Mike and Katherine, part of his season-long plan to destroy the life of the man he believes caused the accident that killed his family. Accidents can always happen in the mountains, can't they?

Get a job: Yes, this show exists in FantasyLand. While most people are struggling just to get a job interview, Lynette decides she wants a job one week and the next second has two generous offers (one for $80,000, another, via Gaby and Carlos, for $100,000). Gaby convinces her to take the job with Carlos because she wants her to spy on Lucy (Lesley Boone), Carlos' ex-girlfriend. Gaby can't believe Carlos once loved this woman since she's overweight, but the extra pounds don't seem to have bothered Carlos one bit.

Steal away: Bree sets out to return all the little items kleptomaniac Orson has been stealing from the neighbors, and of course makes a mistake, getting Gaby's daughter Juanita in trouble in the process. She then drags Orson to therapy. When she leaves, Orson confesses to the doctor that his thievery is getting to Bree simply because it's the one thing the control freak of Wisteria Lane cannot control — and that's why he's doing it.

Quote of the week:

Carlos to Gaby, about his overweight ex: OK, so you're not going to see her on a runway.

Gaby: Except maybe at an airport.

What's my age again? Lynette ages herself up to try and get a job involving a wrinkle cream account, saying she's 54. In reality, "I'm 43 but look 39," she bemoans. That first bit is news to Tom, who believes he's two years younger than his wife, who obviously has been passing herself off as younger than 43. Dishonesty in the Scavo marriage? Never!

Babes in arms: Lesley Boone, who plays overweight Lucy, starred as one of three big-but-beautiful sisters in 1990's "Babes," a Dolly Parton-produced Fox sitcom that was canceled after one season.
