What looked like a run-of-the mill DUI bust for Gary Busey has turned out to be just a fluke, after the wacky actor was stopped by police for allegedly driving erratically Thursday in Malibu, Calif.
So what went down?

For starters, a driver and his passenger flagged down a police car, claiming they saw a black Mercedes driving in a suspicious fashion...a Mercedes that belonged to Busey.
Deputies claimed they too watched Busey's car swerve in and out of its lane, causing them to stop the Celebrity Rehab star and conduct an investigation of DUI, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
As police were in the middle of this investigation, though, the driver of the car that flagged them down, Mark Abel, parked his vehicle while his passenger, Patrice Karst, hopped out and proceeded to take photos of Busey and his interaction with police.
Although police asked Karst to step away from the scene several times, she continued to snap pics and even claimed that she was a member of the press, as if that would justify her actions.
While it turned out that Busey was sober and free to go, the photo-snapping duo was not so lucky.
Abel and Karst were busted for obstructing a peace officer in his duties, and to top that off, police reportedly found marijuana in Karst's possession.
But were Abel and Karst, self-touting "members of the press," trying to set Busey up as circulating reports suggest?
According to Lt. Erickson of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's station (which handled the incident), this may not be the case.
"I don't think those people found out it was Busey behind the wheel until after we pulled him over," Erickson told E! News.
Abel and Karst were later released on a citation to appear.
