Brooke Shields turns 50 on Sunday, and to celebrate the actress and model's birthday, we've dug into our archives and found some of her unforgettable visits to TODAY.
The above footage features a 1978 clip in which the former child star explains the difference between modeling and acting in movies, a 1983 interview that covers her plans for attending Princeton and a 1985 segment that shows the French major practicing her francais.
When Shields visited Willie Geist and Al Roker for TODAY's Take in January, she opened up about hitting the half-century mark this year.
"I'm going to be hitting that big, wonderful birthday," she said. "I'm so excited. It's taken me so long to merit how old I feel anyway because I've been around a long time and I have sort of always been older than my years."
She added, "I think you just start to say, 'This is it; this is who I am.' I'm surrounded by good people. I love my life."
