Brad Pitt drops $500,000 on furniture

Debate rages on over whether Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's twins have arrived. But Pitt isn't exactly saving cash for diapers -- he dropped $500,000 on furniture in Switzerland.

Until someone spots a very pregnant Angelina Jolie out and about, rumors that she gave birth will persist.

The latest evidence to come out of Brangelina babygate seems to support the claim that the celebrity twins have not been brought into the world.

Baby daddy Brad Pitt traveled to Switzerland on June 3 for Design Miami/Basel, an art and design exhibition, according to an organizer of the event. While there, he dropped $293,000 on a marble table by designer Jeroen Verhoeven, ordered a rug made of aluminum thread that sells at $175 per square foot, and is considering purchasing a gold lacquer-coated fiberglass sofa by Zaha Hadid that will run him $300,000.

Also on the tab: two Ron Arad chairs that certainly were not cheap (a hint: some outlets sell the chairs for $25,000 each) and the “Family Lamp” by Atelier van Lieshout. Total price for the two-hour shopping trip? At least $500,000, according to the organizer, possibly more.

The only thing that seems less likely than a dad spending half a million dollars on furniture just days after welcoming newborn twins is a dad embarking on the trip without bringing along any of the four kids he already has. According to a source at the event, Pitt didn’t have Maddox, Shiloh, Zahara or Pax with him for the trip.

That said, “Entertainment Tonight,” which originally reported the birth of the Jolie-Pitt twins, stands by its story.

Oh good, a ‘Hills’ spinoff
As if it weren’t already the case that everywhere you looked, someone from “The Hills” was looking back at you, Us Weekly reports that MTV is prepping a spinoff.

A source tells the magazine that MTV is working on a show for cast member Whitney Port. The mag says the “plot” will revolve around Port, who becomes bicoastal while working for fashion PR firm People's Revolution. Port befriends a group of New Yorkers, and a source tells Us, “There will be more blondes in the city than you ever expected!”

Sheen slams first two marriages at third wedding
There is nothing less classy than dissing your first and second brides in front of your third, but leave it to Charlie Sheen to do it anyway.

“This feels like my first real marriage. The first one was a show, the second one was a con, and this one is the real deal,” Sheen told OK! magazine. Sheen also revealed that his wedding suit is from Men's Wearhouse (no explanation as to why he didn't button his shirt for the photos) and that he's never going to say ex-wife Denise Richards' name in public again.

"I'm so tired of talking about her and all her shenanigans," Sheen told OK!. "I'm going to take a stand to basically never utter her name publicly again."

Emmy committee, are you listening? Part 3
Before getting to this installment of Emmy groveling, there is some unfinished business to take care of from Part 2. It was pointed out to me that when offering up “Mad Men” cast members deserving of a nod, I overlooked Elisabeth Moss, who played the ambitious but feckless Peggy Olson. Not only did she have to wear belly prosthetics for the whole season (her character, we learned, wasn’t just fat, but pregnant), but she had some serious bangs, the kind you can’t hide once you leave the set.

Now, on to Part 3: The hosts of “Top Chef” need to be rewarded. Tom Colicchio isn’t just a true chef and restaurateur, but I can also attest to the fact that he’s one of the most decent people in the entire television business. His counterpart Padma Lakshmi is the show’s surprise ingredient much the way Manhattan was the fifth “Sex and the City” character. From her syrupy delivery of the phrase “please pack your knives,” to the way you wonder if her hair or clothing could fall victim to a grease fire, she is effortless drama, and a perfect complement to Colicchio. Give these two a statue.
