The cast of FOX’s new Batman prequel "Gotham" might want to start keeping helmets on set.

Last week, star Jada Pinkett Smith revealed on TODAY that she accidentally clocked another actor in the head with a baseball bat during a fight scene. Whoops.

Then Ben McKenzie, who plays the iconic character of Jim Gordon as a rookie detective, showed up to the TODAY studio on Monday with a barely healed gash near his hairline, another casualty of stage combat.

“I was driving a guy back into a concrete wall — or a pillar — about three feet wide,” McKenzie recalled of the ill-fated take. “The first time I did it correctly. The second time I caught the edge of it with my head.”

The “O.C.” alum chronicled his trip to the emergency room on Instagram earlier this month.

“Holy concrete wall, Batman!” he captioned one bloody photo. In another caption, he called his doctor a “career saver,” writing, “Thanks for stitching me up nice.”

Now that McKenzie has cleaned up his head wound, can his character help clean up corruption in the dystopian titular city?

Superhero fans can find out starting Monday, when “Gotham” premieres on FOX at 8 p.m. ET.
