Is your Movember 'stache more Justin Bieber than George Clooney? Benjamin Judd can relate.
Judd, 26, who lives in Brisbane, Australia, has been chronicling his Movember momentum — in the form of amazing celeb comparisons — on Instagram this month, as he grows a mustache to raise awareness for men's health (check out the progress of TODAY's No-Shave November here).
"I've pretty much had a beard since I was seven so it is an easy and fun way to raise money for a charity," Judd told TODAY.com via email. "Like a lot of men I hate going to the doctor, so Movember drew me in in that it raises awareness for men's health. Plus it is the one month of the year where it is appropriate for me to have seedy facial hair!"
Judd's ultimate goal — to achieve the Ron Swanson by November 30th — is helped along by a special facial-hair strategy:
"I once interviewed Luke Slattery (co-founder of Movember) for an internship and he told me to treat a mo like a plant — keep it watered and get it plenty of sun," Judd said. "I'd take that one step further and say be patient for the ideal mo to grow."
Judd spends 15-30 minutes a day, with the help of his husband, to get the photos just right. He's raised $250 so far, but is aiming to crack $1000.
