Emmy's gal pals were out in full force Friday night.

Julie Bowen from "Modern Family," Elisabeth Moss from "Mad Men," Erika Christensen from "Parenthood" and Jenna Ushkowitz from "Glee" were just a few of the ladies who strutted their stuff on the red carpet before slipping inside the posh pre-Emmy soiree hosted by Women in Film and Entertainment Weekly at Boa Steakhouse on the Sunset Strip.

Partygoers sipped cocktails with such cheeky names as Best Supporting Apple and Cherry Carpet and noshed on hors d'oeuvres like sliders and smoked salmon at the crowded bash as a disc jockey pumped the space full of tunes. Other female attendees at the magazine's ninth annual pre-Emmy party included Kathy Griffin, Minnie Driver and Olivia Munn.

After celebrating earlier at the Emmy performers nominee reception, Margo Martindale of "Justified" chatted outside on the patio with Paul McCrane, who won a guest-acting trophy at last week's Creative Arts Emmys for his "Harry's Law" role. Martindale is up for her own award at Sunday's 63rd annual Primetime Emmys: outstanding supporting actress in a drama.

The evening wasn't just about the women though.

Some male attendees bared bromances. Despite playing rivals on "The Good Wife," co-stars Chris Noth and Josh Charles kept each other in good company throughout the night, and "Parks and Recreation" funnyman Aziz Ansari and his "The League" pal Paul Scheer grabbed cocktails from the bar together before moving on to mingle on the patio.
