If Seann William Scott really wants to be a role model, this is a good first step.

The actor, who's best known for his goofball roles in bromance flicks like "Role Models," "Dude, Where's My Car?" and the "American Pie trilogy," has checked into a treatment center, his rep said Tuesday.

Does that mean Stifler is cleaning up his act?

"Seann William Scott has voluntarily admitted himself for proactive treatment to address health and personal issues," his rep tells People. "He appreciates the support of his many fans at this time."

No other details were forthcoming on what these issues are or where he is undergoing treatment.

Scott's was last on the big screen in the 2010 Bruce Willis-Tracy Morgan comedy "Cop Out."
