7 apps, websites to get you through the holiday rush

Still have some last-minute gifts to buy and things to cross off your to-do list before Christmas? Don't get super stressed because Randi Zuckerberg, CEO and founder of Zuckerberg Media and author of "Dot Complicated" has some tips to help you relax. Here, she shares some of the latest apps and websites to help your life run a little smoother during the holiday season.

For organizing

EasilyDo app: EasilyDo acts as a "personal assistant" to help you stay organized and save time. Thanks to it location functions, you can plug in directions for events — it can even send you reminders, or give you traffic and weather updates. You can also set it so it sends text messages and syncs to your email so it can sort out your boarding passes, file e-receipts and track packages.

For shopping

SaleSorter app:  The SaleSorter app uses your smartphone’s location to show which discounts are currently available at your local stores. It specifically uses a map to show you where the deals are. It includes store hours and contact info so you can call and see how the lines before you make the trek to the mall.

For hard to find gifts

PickieGifts.com: This site suggests a few intelligent gift ideas based on a person's Facebook Likes and specific character traits or categories that describe your friends and family.

For philanthropy

Instead app:  A nonprofit app that encourages users to live below their means and donate the extra money. The app will keep track of the organizations you've made donations to as well as the total amount you've donated. 

For travel

Peek Tours and Activities app: This app is a one-stop shop for travelers and locals. It features thousands of hand-picked activities, curated by travel experts and tastemakers in 17 US cities, London and Paris. All the activities span from and are searchable by a variety of categories, including family friendly, arts & culture, food & wine, sights, etc. 

For a relaxing atmosphere

Fireplace Live app: Turn your screen into a festive fireplace this holiday season. Not only do you get the crackling wood sound but you have the options of a burning log to a classic fireplace. It also has timer so you can fall asleep while listening to it.

For tracking St. Nick

Santa Tracker: Follow Santa's progress around the world and learn about some of his stops along the way. You'll also learn about the technology that powers his sleigh thanks to the latest and greats in Google Maps.
