These days, designers are bursting at the seams to collaborate with stores, and with good reason: Jason Wu for Target sold out in hours and Versace’s collection for H&M was just as sought-after.

Now, it’s Diane von Furstenberg’s turn. The designer of the iconic wrap dress has shrunk her sights and come out with a collection of baby and little girl's clothing for GapKids.

It’s DVF’s first collaboration, but she has stayed true to her roots. There are wrap dresses, belted rompers, espadrilles and even a few brightly colored bathing suits — and of course, plenty of her signature patterns.

"(As a designer), you want to do something that both mothers and children will love," von Furstenberg told Savannah Guthrie on TODAY Friday. "And I think we really have done that. I think it’s very fun, happy and optimistic and practical."

The collection arrived in stores and on the website on Thursday, and several hours later there were already reports that some locations had sold out. Styles are still available online and, the website reports, in stores.

Here are some of our favorites:

Will you be buying clothing from this collection for your little ones? What other designers would you like to see collaborate with Gap?

Rachel Elbaum is a London-based writer who wishes she had little girls to dress in these wrap rompers.
