"Dancing With the Stars" co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet was not her usual cheerful self in her latest ModernMom.com blog. In the video posted Thursday, the TV personality revealed that she has thyroid cancer.

In July, she had told fans that doctors had found a nodule on her thyroid, but since then hadn't given an update about what the test results were. In her latest blog, she revealed that she had received the results shortly after the nodule was discovered, and that the results were "atypical," meaning her doctors didn't know if it was cancerous or benign. That meant even more tests and doctors' opinions for "Dancing's" season seven champ this past summer.

And then, the news came.

"Long story ... long, I got my results back and they were not good, and I need to have thyroid surgery and have a thyroidectomy, which means that I'm going to have a nice big scar right here across my neck," she revealed in Thursday's video blog. "And I don't get to just walk around and pretend like nothing happened and not follow up and not share it because it's gonna be pretty much dead center."

Though the diagnosis was bleak, Brooke is trying to be upbeat, saying she's never felt better.

"Here's the way that I see it: I'm just going to make a positive out of this negative thing," she said in the video. "I'm going to be a really good patient and I'm gonna do everything I need to do."

Brooke also pointed out her doctors told her "this is, like, a 'good' kind of cancer to have," and that her physician called this a "happily ever after" situation.

"It's going to be good," she said hopefully.

After posting the video, Brooke received an outpouring of support on Twitter.

"I'm feeling the love today from friends, family, #DWTS, tweeties, fans. You warm my heart. I'm feeling good Thank you from down deep xoxo," she tweeted. "I was scared to get on twitter and hear what people are saying.....now I can breathe easy. Thank you for your support."
