It's not every day that we do a double-take on a Beyoncé photo because we think something might be amiss. More often than not, it's because we're studying how, once again, she's wowed us with her appearance.
A new image out of London on Tuesday showed Beyoncé at the Kings Cross rail station with her husband, Jay Z, and daughter, Blue Ivy. The pop star also brought along a new hairstyle which managed to turn a few heads on the Web.
Queen Bey's bangs were very short, sitting a few inches above her eyebrows in all their blunt glory. The rest of her 'do was down and hung past her shoulders. She wore a maroon jumpsuit and held a clutch to match.
The dramatic change in hairstyle was noticeable on a woman whose flowing mane is such a signature of her personal style and her stage presence. Just a couple days ago, in a selfie on Instagram, her wavy hair flowed from under a black hat.
At the end of August, at the MTV Video Music Awards, she might as well have been accepting the Vanguard Award for best hair of the night.
On some sites, including E! Online, speculation was that Beyoncé might just be sporting a wig and we shouldn't get too attached to the bangs.
Whatever the story behind Tuesday's makeover, we're sure it'll only be a short time before Beyoncé causes us to look twice yet again.
