The new annual catalog from Restoration Hardware is landing in households this week with a 17-pound thud.
The gigantic mailing is actually a bundle of 13 “sourcebooks” that offer more than 3,300 pages of “curated and inspired design.”
But the heft of the package has prompted some scathing comments and cheeky photos, as well as a Tumblr site named Deforestation Hardware.
Restoration Hardware defended its bulk delivery, insisting the catalogs are "carbon neutral" since they only get mailed out once a year and as a single package.
However, it failed to apologize to postal carriers who still had to deliver them.
