Admit it: A fake radio station that shares heartfelt birthday greetings with unsuspecting car passengers is a brilliant gift idea.

Now add to the fact that this one was created by a boy for his grandmother, Iris Howard, on the occasion of her 86th birthday ... and now you're talking "brilliantly adorable."

"I thought I would do something a little bit different for my nan this year," the lad in question wrote in the caption to his now-viral YouTube video featuring footage from the big reveal. "Once she was in the car and thinking she was listening to the radio she suddenly got the biggest shock of her life..."

The two are listening to music in the car when the station apparently changes, and a broadcast begins with a radio announcer calling for his listeners' attention. "Please listen very, very carefully," he urges in an uncharacteristic tone that, somehow, doesn't clue Nan into the birthday goings-on.

"Breaking news just in," the broadcast continues. "Iris Howard is celebrating her birthday." At this point, Howard cracks a smile and begins to laugh.

"Commonly known for winning the Best Nan competition after ten years in a row, the 86-year-old is often described as an 'incredible person' and 'loved by all her friends and family.'"

As the recording continues with messages from family and friends all over the world, Howard begins to let out her share of happy tears.

What she didn't know was that the biggest surprise was still on the way: A message from her brother, who lives in Australia.

"I would also like to wish you all the best [inaudible], and hope you have a great time with the family," he says.

The driver implores his grandmother not to cry, but it's clearly too late. But it's her party and she can cry if she wants to.
