Blake Shelton dialed up his rivalry with his fellow "Voice" coach Adam Levine Monday night.
During the top 10 live performance show, the country superstar tweeted Levine's phone number to his more than 6 million followers.
It all started with a little bit of ribbing from the rocker an hour before the show.
In response, Shelton wrote, "hope I'm not stupid enough" to tweet out the Maroon 5 frontman's personal digits.
The country star made good on his threat between performances during the show — and probably took down a few cell phone towers in Los Angeles when thousands of fans called the Sexiest Man Alive.
"It was his number," host Carson Daly confirmed to TODAY after the show. "I knew it was real because Adam told me it was real, but I didn't know if they were going to go through with it or how it would play out."
Daly said he texts Levine "quite a bit," but when he dialed that number from the press line, he told us, "the phone that I always call him on is now discontinued."
"Those two, they have issues they've got to solve," coach Shakira told TODAY about her competitors in the big red chairs. "They've got to work out those issues among themselves. But Blake should expect some kind of revenge from Adam, I can assure you that."
What would the "Empire" pop star do if Shelton tweeted out her number?
"Oh, I would hang him," she told us. "He's heavy, but I would find a way."
"There's a really cool, playful banter that goes on between us as coaches," her fellow coach Usher told TODAY, "because we're real — we really do care about one another and though this is a competition and everybody obviously wants to win, we're enjoying it while we're doing it."
The coaches' sense of humor has an added bonus for the artists: It soothes their nerves.
"Blake literally cracks me up every time I'm around him, and he just makes you, like, more loose," said his appreciating artist Audra McLaughlin (who wowed her coach with Reba McEntire's country ballad "You Lie"). "If you're nervous ... once Blake starts laughing or says something (funny) you're just automatically like, 'I'm just going to go out there and do my best that I can because I know that Blake believes in us.' "
Usher praised the contestants for the "positive spirit" they themselves bring to the stage. "Imagine that: One day you're singing in a bar, the next day people all over the world are analyzing you and giving their opinion about you," he told TODAY. "That can be overwhelming. So the fact that they come with a positive spirit every day and do not get caught up in it and taken over by this, I think it's great."
"It is weird to get noticed places," Josh Kaufman — who drew raves Monday for his soulful performance of Kenny Loggins' "This Is It" — told TODAY. "People are like, 'Hey, great job!' That takes some getting used to. But it's fun."
Team Blake's Sisaundra Lewis told TODAY, "The love (from fans) just makes me so empowered" — and she proved it with her knockout performance of Steve Perry's "Oh Sherrie" to close the show.
Team Adam's Kat Perkins, who was moved to tears after her emotional rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide," told TODAY that she loves the attention from fans.
"This is for America and there's a reason why we bring America into this show, to vote and to get behind an artist. I love it when I get approached — I'm always happy to talk to my fans."
"I've got a lot of requests for me to ask coaches things," revealed Kristen Merlin, commended for her professionalism and poise when her microphone malfunctioned last week. "I'm like, 'No, I don't really have their numbers to call them up or anything just yet.'"
That's OK, Kristen. Thanks to Blake Shelton, fans can call now Adam Levine themselves.
