A 6-year-old Georgia kindergartner was detained by police last Friday, after allegedly throwing a violent tantrum at school. The girl's dad spoke out Tuesday, saying the school had "no business calling the police and handcuffing my child."
Kathie Lee and Hoda debated the controversial decision. Hoda argued that the police have no place in an elementary school: "I think the police should be out patrolling and protecting the public," she said.
She felt that putting a child that young in cuffs could be traumatic, but Kathie Lee argued that when kids are out of control physically, it's the only option to keep them from injuring themselves or others. "She'll be a little scarred but better that than another child losing an eye."
Besides, she argued, handcuffs aren't violent and don't hurt. "I don't think you should taser children," she said.
That's when KLG suggested Hoda's aversion to handcuffs may have come from "too much 'Fifty Shades of Grey,'" which certainly has no place in an elementary school.
