Accused Veteran Killer Back in Court

The man accused of killing a Vietnam veteran is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - Andre Johnson is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning for a pre-trial conference.

Johnson pleaded not guilty to two counts of second degree murder and one count of first degree robbery.

Prosecutors say he gunned down 70-year-old Robert Bennett.

Bennett was found shot to death inside of his C Street home in late March.

According to his obituary, he served for 20 years in the U.S. Armed Forces, and went to Vietnam multiple times. Bennett enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17.

Johnson remains behind bars without bail.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
