The cast of "30 Rock" knew the end was nigh as they filmed the show's final season, but that didn't make shooting the series finale any easier.
"It was a very tearful goodbye," Jane Krakowski, who played Jenna Maroney on the long-running series, revealed during a Thursday morning visit to TODAY. "It sort of didn't set in as a reality until we got to the final episode. Then there were so many tears from the read-through on. I cried so much I became known as the John Boehner of '30 Rock.' I could not stop crying."
The tears are bound to flow again as Krakowski joins her "30 Rock" pals one more time Thursday night.
"Tonight … for the series finale, we're all going to get together and watch it together," she said.
In addition to their own farewell performances, they'll watch a guest appearance from TODAY's own Savannah Guthrie in the series sendoff. According to the always-diplomatic Krakowski, she was "wonderful" in the episode, but it's tough to pick a favorite among the many TODAY-anchor cameos over the years. "I've had a few magical moments with Matt (Lauer on the show) as well," she admitted.
The series finale of "30 Rock" airs Thursday at 8 p.m. on NBC.
