Teen rebellion is coming to television, though it may not be quite how Nirvana might have imagined it.
The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Dave Goetsch, the writer and executive producer of "The Big Bang Theory," has sold a sitcom titled "Smells Like Teen Spirit" -- the 1991 hit that launched the grunge band to stardom -- to CBS, which is also the home to "BBT." According to THR, "Teen Spirit" is a family comedy about an 18-year-old who gives up going to Harvard to kick off an Internet company in his '90s indie-rock parents' garage. Like with "Big Bang," Goetsch will perform writing and producing duties.
Kurt Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, did not have a comment about the series, and Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl has not yet responded to a request for comment.
