Once the stomping ground for spiky stilettos, stacked heels and sky-high sandals, New York Fashion Week apparently has a new mantra: comfort is key.

Comfy sandals were all over the runway this year, and you probably recognize the brand that many stylish fashion show-goers will all be sporting. Tevas. Yes, you read that right! Trusty two-strap Tevas, the '90s sandals made for camping, pool days and other outdoor activities, are back.

Designers Anna Sui, Nanushka, Tome, Sandy Liang and more dressed their models in iterations of the strap-on sandal, some even styling them with a pair of socks or topping the shoe with tassels and fringe.

This isn't fashion's first foray into the "ugly shoe" trend. Crocs, Birkenstocks and furry clogs have all made their respective comebacks, and in the name of comfort, we couldn't be more pleased. So, venture to the depths of your closet, find your old waterproof sandals, and give them a spin. Or if you got rid of your Tevas years ago, it might be time to pick up a new pair.
