New Jersey train was at double the speed limit during fatal crash, says NTSB
Regarding last week’s commuter train crash in Hoboken, New Jersey, the NTSB announced Thursday that the train sped up to 21 mph shortly before it crashed into the terminal. The engineer hit the emergency brake less than a second before the train slammed into a post at the end of the track. One woman was killed and more than 100 others were injured in the crash.
