Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Juan Manuel Santos, president of Colombia
Columbian President Juan Manuel Santos won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for his work to end a decades-long civil war that has killed more than 200,000 people. By a narrow margin, Colombian voters recently rejected the peace deal that Santos helped bring to the ballot. But the Norwegian Nobel Committee says the voters’ rejection does not mean the peace process is over.
