Zika fears shut down blood donations in 2 Florida counties
After four new Zika virus cases were discovered in Florida, the Food and Drug Administration wants the donated blood supply tested to make sure it is not contaminated. Two Florida counties have stopped accepting donations due to concerns about the virus. Officials say none of the Zika patients traveled out of the country, meaning those infected likely got it from infected mosquitoes or via sexual transmission. NBC’s Kerry Sanders reports from Fort Lauderdale. (Run time: 2:49)
