"Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" concert film premiered in a glitzy Los Angeles event on Wednesday night. The movie, which features footage from Swift's real-life concerts, will be shown in AMC Theaters across the United States, now beginning Oct. 12.
SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, is also where Swift finished the first leg of the U.S. tour with a six-night run and announced the re-release of her album "1989 (Taylor's Version)."
The premiere was held at an outdoor mall called The Grove in Los Angeles, where fans gathered Wednesday afternoon.

A select group of lucky fans — both celebrities and regular folks —were invited to the screening. TODAY staff spotted Adam Sandler, Simu Liu and Julia Garner.

2 surprise songs included in the 'Eras Tour' concert film
At each show on her tour, Swift included two surprise songs. She performed the songs solo, either playing an acoustic guitar or sitting at a piano at the edge of the stage, near the end of the show.
Because three Los Angeles shows were filmed — Aug. 3-5 — that meant that there were six possible songs that could've made the movie.
Those songs were: “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “Our Song,” “You Are in Love,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and “You’re on Your Own, Kid.”
TODAY staff in the screening confirmed the movie featured "Our Song," a track off her 2006 self-titled debut studio album.
The second surprise song featured was "You're Own Your Own Kid," a track from her most recent album, "Midnights."
The movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 48 minutes, which is about half an hour shorter than her actual live show.
The film also didn't show at least two of the songs Swift performed in the Los Angeles shows all three nights crews were there filming: "Archer" and "No Body, No Crime." A third song Swift had performed, "Long Live", wasn't exactly shown in the film but was featured during the credits.
Early Thursday morning, other viewers noted that "Tis the Damn Season," Long Live", "Cardigan" and "Wildest Dreams" also were not featured in the film.
'Eras Tour' film shows Swift gifting Kobe Bryant's daughter Bianka a hat during the show
It became a tour tradition for Taylor Swift to give away the hat she wore as she performed her hit single "22" in each show.
The person gifted the hat was always pre-selected, according to reports, and often had a special connection to Swift.
At her Los Angeles concert on Aug. 3, Swift melted hearts after she gave the late Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant's daughter Bianka the hat and shared a sweet embrace.
It was that hat exchange and hug that made the final cut of the "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" film, TODAY can report after viewing the screening on Oct. 11.
The film was recorded over three days of concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in August.
Swift and the Bryant family actually have a sweet history going back nearly 10 years. For more on their relationship, click here.
Swift stopped to take selfies with fans outside premiere
Fans gathered outside the Los Angeles premiere of "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" with hopes of glimpsing the pop star as she arrived.
Some were lucky and got to meet with the star as she walked the red carpet past them, stopping to take selfies. TODAY staff on the ground said Swift visited with fans for nearly an hour.
Still more fans — without tickets — gathered outside the event at The Grove in Los Angeles, where they were spotted by TODAY crews singing their favorite Swift songs together.
Security told TODAY crews at the event that some fans had attempted to get into the premiere by purchasing tickets online to other movies that had been incorrectly listed as showing at AMC The Grove 14 on Wednesday evening. Reps from AMC did not respond to TODAY.com's request for comment.
Swift thanks her team and fans for being her 'main characters'
Once inside the theater, Taylor Swift delivered a sweet speech to the people in attendance. She thanked her team for their hard work and dedication every night during the "Eras Tour." She also called them and her fans the "main characters in this film because that's what made the tour magical."
"That's what made it different than anything I've ever done in my life is your attention to detail, your preparation, your passion, your intensity," she said. "You care so much about these shows and that made all the difference for us. It made us want to add even more shows and just keep doing the tour and I think that I just have never felt this way about anything, the way that I feel about this experience that we have had and continue to have. So, I am so proud."
