Survivor of Alaska mountain plane crash speaks out
A small plane loaded with tourists collided into a rocky mountain in a remote section of Alaska. The 11 people on board, including the pilot, survived the harrowing crash, and now one of the survivors, Christine Newbill, is speaking out, detailing the emotional trauma. She says it was “surreal at first” seeing the helicopter arrive to rescue the group through the fog, adding, “It was amazing.” NBC national correspondent Miguel Almaguer reports for TODAY.
