Officials scramble to reunite migrant families after missing deadline
The Trump administration is being given more time to reunite the youngest migrant children with their parents after officials failed to meet Tuesday’s court-ordered deadline. An estimated 64 of 102 children under the age of 5 still remained separated. In all, nearly 3,000 separated children of all ages remain in government custody. The families must now be reunited by July 26, NBC’s Gabe Gutierrez reports for TODAY from El Paso, Texas.
