Riot declared in Portland after protesters start fire in police union office
Police in Portland, Oregon, declared a riot after protesters broke into police union headquarters and started a fire. Police tried to clear the area, shutting down streets around the headquarters. Demonstrators have taken to the streets for more than two months to protest racial injustice and police brutality after the killing of George Floyd and others.
