California becomes first state to ban puppy mills
Starting in 2019, pet store owners in California will be no longer be able to sell animals from so-called puppy mills. The new law will require pet store owners to sell dogs, cats and rabbits from shelters, rescue groups and adoption centers with violators facing a $500 fine.
